Backstory
Character Overview
Born beneath the shadowed canopy of the Ogolakanu Range, Brock grew up in a world where sunlight arrived in scattered coins rather than beams. Under the guidance of the ancient druid Mossroot, he learned to listen — truly listen — to the stories carried by rivers, stones, roots, and old trees. His magic grew from empathy, not dominance. Brock healed more than he harmed, and he preferred conversation to conflict.
The Fading Forest
But the world beyond the valley was changing. Forests were shrinking, spirits restless, and the balance Mossroot had taught him to protect was slipping away. Sent forth as a wanderer, Brock became a bridge between the old ways and the uncertain future — carrying the memory of the Deepwood in every step, and the promise that even fading roots can still find new soil.
Storm and Soil
Traveling together, Brock learned to read the sky as Torik learned to see the world around him. He saw how the storm giant blood in his friend stirred the weather, how Torik’s rage could call lightning like a hunting hawk. Brock became Torik’s anchor—reminding him to breathe, to listen, to remain himself even when the storm wanted more.
In return, Torik protected Brock fiercely. When Brock communed with spirits, Torik stood guard. When Brock healed wounded beasts, Torik kept predators at bay. When Brock doubted himself, Torik reminded him that strength comes in many shapes.
Brock in the World of Cynidicea
The approved reference sheet governs his permanent design. The scenes below illustrate his quieter druidic nature and his relationship with Torik; they are not permission to change his weapon or physical identity.

What the Roots Remember
Draft continuation
Brock knelt beside a root that had pushed through the stone. It was thin enough to snap between two fingers. He cleared the grit around it instead. When Torik asked how long he meant to stay there, Brock pointed out the fresh shoots. Whatever had sickened the forest, something beneath it was still fighting to live.

Additional character references
Brock — Definitive Character Reference
Brock Kuma’s approved two-page visual canon is the primary authority for his appearance, battleaxe, armour and equipment. Every subsequent illustration should preserve his identity and the exact approved weapon silhouette, including a perfectly straight, continuous shaft from pommel to axe head.
The reference above is embedded at its original resolution to avoid relying on an unverified image-hosting URL. The approved art is unchanged.
Locked Visual Identity
Face & Eyes
Rugged angular human face, weathered skin, pronounced brow, defined cheekbones and a short dark-brown beard. Both eyes are natural forest green with ordinary dark pupils; never permanently glowing. Dark charcoal cheek markings follow the approved face reference.
Hair & Proportions
Shoulder-length tousled dark-brown hair, occasional small braids and feather accents. Human male, 180 cm tall, muscular but realistically proportioned. He must remain visibly smaller than Torik and Carlin in party scenes.
Mantle & Armour
Heavy layered fur-and-feather mantle with one recognisable animal skull shoulder ornament. Rugged brown leather, practical harness and belts, layered hide panels, reinforced bracers, wrapped greaves and sturdy boots.
Identity Accessories
Faceted green crystal pendant at the chest, bone and tooth necklaces, feathers, pouches and small metal fittings. Dark upper-arm tattoos and cheek markings are permanent visual cues, not incidental dirt.
The Signature Double-Headed Battleaxe
ONE weapon. ONE straight axis. The approved design is locked. Brock carries his ornate double-headed steel battleaxe as his default weapon. Two opposed engraved crescent blades attach to one central socket and one uninterrupted straight haft. The leather-wrapped grips, decorative fittings, pommel, blade outline and relative proportions follow the approved sheet exactly.
Weapon Engineering
Maintain an uninterrupted straight centreline from pommel through the haft to the head socket. No bent handles, disconnected segments, floating blade fittings, duplicated heads or impossible grip geometry.
Combat Handling
Two-handed strikes require both hands on the same haft, believable wrist positions, plausible leverage and blade alignment with the intended cutting arc. The axe-ready pose and overhead strike shown in the approved sheet are the pose references.
At Rest
The axe may be grounded, carried upright, across the body or on a shoulder when physically plausible. In quiet druidic scenes it may rest nearby. A staff is not Brock’s default weapon.
Design Lock
Do not invent a new axe, alter the blade engravings, change the orientation, make it a halberd or silently substitute a staff. Numerical dimensions have not been approved and should not be fabricated.
The Druid’s Calling
Nature & Spirits
Nature communion, listening to spirits, reading weather and terrain, respecting living systems and recognising the old wisdom in rivers, trees and stone.
Healing & Survival
Herbal remedies, foraging, wilderness survival, healing magic, empathy with beasts and a protective instinct toward allies and vulnerable creatures.
Wild Shape & Companion
Earlier campaign notes record Wild Shape and Wild Companion capabilities. These are part of Brock’s known play history; his current full mechanical sheet is not reproduced here.
Visualising Magic
Roots, leaves, wind, rain, living vines and restrained green-gold natural energy when casting. His eyes remain naturally green outside a specifically depicted magical effect.
The earlier website’s level 2 value is historical. Current level, official subclass, prepared spells and numerical statistics require a current player character sheet; the generated art’s “Circle: Warden” wording is not independently verified as a game-mechanics designation.
The Complete Character Blueprint
Detailed reference specifications consolidated from Brock’s character paperwork, original website biography, approved four-view sheet, battleaxe references and locked two-page character canon. The text below is readable website content rather than screenshots of document pages.
IDENTITY, SCALE & BODY
Core identity
Name: Brock Kuma. Species: human. Class: druid. Honorific/title: Warden of the Deepwoods. Height: 5 ft 11 in (180 cm), confirmed on the reference sheet and in the master. Build: muscular, weathered, functional wilderness-athlete physique with broad shoulders, strong forearms, a sturdy torso and human proportions; not a hulking goliath, bugbear or oversized barbarian. Weight is not confirmed; the 185 lb / 84 kg entry in the older master was explicitly proposed, not approved.
Proportion controls
In six-character scenes Brock must remain visibly smaller than Torik and Carlin, taller than Fizz, and approximately human-scale beside Lysandra and Maru. Maintain plausible head-to-body proportion, shoulder width, forearm length, wrist anatomy, finger count and boot-ground contact. Fur volume must not be mistaken for underlying body mass.
FACE & HAIR
Face
Rugged, angular adult male face with defined cheekbones, pronounced brow, straight-to-slightly rugged nose, strong jaw and weathered skin texture. Short-to-medium dense dark brown beard and moustache; naturally uneven, never a long white beard. Intense, alert, thoughtful expression. Avoid smoothing his face into a generic handsome model or exaggerating it into a monstrous snarl.
Eyes — explicit user canon
Both irises are NATURAL FOREST GREEN. This is a newly explicit rule where earlier sources did not settle the colour. Keep realistic pupils, catchlights and whites; no permanent magical glow. Lighting may alter perceived shade, but green must remain readable in close-up and neutral lighting.
Hair
Dark brown, shaggy, shoulder-length layered hair with uneven windswept strands, loose volume and occasional small braids/feather accents as depicted. Natural wet clumping in rain; avoid a short haircut, blond/white hair, neat salon styling or extreme dreadlocks unless newly approved.
Facial markings
Dark charcoal/black irregular streaks across BOTH cheeks, generally angled outward from the nose and under the eyes, as shown in the close-up. Replicate placement and scale from the sheet rather than inventing symmetric tribal symbols. Keep the marks separate from the beard and skin shadows.
ARMOUR, MANTLE & FABRIC CONSTRUCTION
Primary silhouette
Layered heavy fur-and-feather mantle/cape with irregular long tufts and overlapping natural textures. Prominent small animal skull mounted on one shoulder (viewer-side changes with camera angle); do not multiply skulls or turn it into a human skull. Brown leather harness straps cross chest over rough, practical garments; no polished plate armour or chainmail substitution.
Torso and waist
Rugged dark brown/earth-tone leather, hide and woven textile layers, weathered stitching, overlapping straps and functional buckles. Wide waist belt with circular metal buckle, secondary straps, utility pouches and small hanging bone, tooth, cord and feather charms. Belt objects should be anchored to straps, not floating.
Arms, hands and legs
Visible upper-arm tattoos/markings in dark ink, especially on exposed skin; substantial layered leather bracers with stitched or riveted structure; practical finger mobility. Brown trousers, irregular hide panels, wrapped leather greaves, shaggy fur at calves and ankle, weathered lace-up or strapped leather boots. Clothing is used, rain-darkened and dirt-stained rather than immaculate.
Materials and palette
Natural palette: walnut, umber, bark brown, charcoal, weathered tan, muted rust, dark feather tones, bone ivory and oxidised metal. Jewel accent: green pendant. High-frequency surface detail: individual fur strands, frayed cloth fibres, stitched leather seams, scratches, worn metal edges, damp skin pores and authentic mud or rain effects.
JEWELLERY, CHARMS & IDENTIFIERS
Green faceted crystal or stone pendant on a cord at upper chest; preserve its distinctive shape and location; do not automatically depict it emitting magic.
Multiple bone/tooth/fang pieces on cords around the neck, combined with small metallic medallions or clasps where visible.
Feathers and cords integrated into the mantle/hair and belt; preserve the general asymmetrical organic design rather than exact invented charm counts.
One animal skull shoulder ornament; maintain attachment, credible skull scale and its orientation to the shoulder.
Tattoos and dark face streaks are stable identity cues; do not confuse them with dirt or blood.
SIGNATURE WEAPON — DOUBLE-HEADED BATTLEAXE
Absolute default
ONE distinctive ornate DOUBLE-HEADED BATTLEAXE is Brock’s default visible and combat weapon. The user explicitly superseded every staff-as-default description. Do not add a carried or wielded staff by default, even if older website text or master references mention it.
Construction and silhouette
Two opposed crescent cutting blades on a shared central head, matching in overall style and ornamental engraved metalwork. The central socket joins one continuous, perfectly straight wood-and-metal haft. The axe must be structurally coherent: no detached blade, discontinuous shaft, bent axis, duplicated axe head or impossible floating fittings. Use the current approved reference image for engraving, head outline, haft wrapping, terminal fittings and proportions.
Scale and handling
A human-sized practical battleaxe, not a long halberd or poleaxe. The older master requires a short-to-medium haft and practical leverage. No numerical length, mass or head width has been explicitly approved, so DO NOT invent canonical dimensions. For one-handed poses, show a mechanically credible grip and free hand; for two-handed poses, show both hands grasping the same continuous haft, with adequate separation and wrist alignment. No weapon clipping through the body.
Scene-dependent modes
At rest: axe may be carried upright, grounded, held across body or on shoulder if geometry permits. In combat: one active axe, realistic cutting arc, blade aligned with movement, plausible impact/recovery phase. In social or druidic scenes: axe may be set aside or stowed, but it remains his default signature weapon. No simultaneous battleaxe-and-staff depiction unless user specifically overrides the rule.
BACKSTORY & CHARACTER MOTIVATION
Origins and mentor
Website copy identifies Brock as born under the shadowed canopy of the Ogolakanu Range, where the ancient druid Mossroot taught him to listen to rivers, stones, roots and old trees. He developed nature magic through empathy and communion rather than domination. He prefers healing, conversation and balance to unnecessary conflict. This is source-derived biography, not inferred from visual images.
The Fading Forest
The website describes shrinking forests, restless spirits and a threatened natural balance. Brock leaves home as a wanderer to protect the old ways and help them survive in a changing world. These are narrative motivations, not evidence of specific future campaign events.
Storm and Soil — relationship with Torik
The website portrays Brock and Torik as close companions: Brock steadies Torik’s storm-linked temperament; Torik protects Brock during communion and healing. The relationship is mutual and protective, not a rigid mentor/subordinate hierarchy. Torik’s powers as described on the site are story claims and should not automatically override current game mechanics.
DRUIDIC PRACTICE, MAGIC & MECHANICS
The website lists Nature Communion, Herbalism & Natural Remedies, Beast Empathy, Spirit Listening, Survival & Foraging, Druidic Rituals, Healing Magic and Weather & Terrain Reading. Treat these as character themes and stated skills, not an official verified 5e proficiency list.
Earlier session material records Wild Shape and Wild Companion / familiar-related capability. Exact current subclass, level, spell slots, prepared spells, ability scores, hit points and equipment inventory remain unverified without a current character sheet.
The website shows Level 2, which is historical page content; do not silently assert it is Brock’s present level.
Magic visuals should be organic and restrained: roots, leaves, wind, rain, natural green-gold energy and subtle spirit presences, only when the scene calls for casting. Avoid permanently glowing eyes or magical weapon effects.
Conditional Beast Hide described in the master is OFF by default. If explicitly activated, retain recognisable human identity and working hands; no involuntary werewolf transformation.
PERFORMANCE & EMOTIONAL RANGE
Neutral: observant, grounded, weathered, wary but approachable; brows slightly knit, eyes focused.
Protective: body between ally and threat, axe ready, weight planted; credible concern without exaggerated cartoon rage.
Druidic communion: quieter expression, attentive to surroundings, axe safely at rest; natural-world cues.
Battle: fierce, focused, human facial anatomy; hair and fur move with momentum; weapon has one coherent swing path.
Rest: thoughtful and tired, surrounded by companions; jewellery, mantle and cheek markings remain consistent.
NEGATIVE CONSTRAINTS & QUALITY GATE
Never replace his natural green eyes with amber, blue or permanent glowing light.
Never make him a bugbear, goliath, elf, white-haired wizard or hulking animal hybrid.
Never lose or relocate his cheek markings, skull shoulder piece or green pendant without a specific scene justification.
Never use a staff as the default weapon; never make the battleaxe a halberd, poleaxe or single-blade axe.
Never bend the axe shaft, duplicate the axe, detach a blade, create impossible grips or extra fingers.
Never silently turn historical website mechanics into current character-sheet facts.
Always inspect the approved sheet and verify actual image-pixel delivery before claiming reference-locked image generation.
Use maximum native output resolution available; preserve original reference PNG pixels without upscaling claims. Photorealistic skin, fur, metal, rain and lighting, with anatomy and identity ahead of visual spectacle.
